Fabric Refresher – Day 21 – 31 Days of DIY Cleaners

If your clothing smells a little funky but isn’t quite ready for a wash, this is your middleman solution.  A few spritzes of this and your clothing will smell fresh and be ready for a new wear.

  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup liquid fabric softener

And if you don’t want to use fabric softener, try this recipe

  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol
  • 1 teaspoon corn starch
  • 20 drops of your favourite essential oil

For either recipe, add ingredients to a spray bottle, shake well and spray clothing on the mist setting, allowing clothing to dry completely before hanging or folding.  The rubbing alcohol and vinegar scents will not linger on your clothing.

  1. Hi is there something to add that would make this like a disinfectant? I’m looking for something with anti bacterial properties for couches. Thanks!
