I love all-purpose cleaner! It’s super versatile and great for so many different kinds of cleaning jobs. And what I love even more than a great cleaning product is a great DIY cleaning product. So if you’re looking for the best all-purpose cleaner, look no further! My recipe for DIY all-purpose cleaner will cut your cleaning costs and level up your cleaning routine.

A bottle of all-purpose cleaner normally costs approximately $4. But my DIY all-purpose cleaner can be made for pennies. It’s a perfect cleaning solution for those everyday touch-ups and general cleaning where you don’t need those heavy-duty products.

So without further ado, here’s my recipe!

The Best DIY All-Purpose Cleaner

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon of dish soap
  • 2 cups of water
  • 10 drops of your favorite essential oil (optional)

Add all your ingredients to a spray bottle and shake well. And that’s it!

Why Use DIY All-Purpose Cleaner

This DIY cleaner is customizable, budget-friendly, and easier on the environment. Regular all-purpose cleaners contain a lot of unnecessary chemicals that you really don’t need for quick cleaning. This recipe is simple and eco-friendly, especially if you’re using eco-friendly dish soap!

Cut your spending from dollars to cents (hey, it adds up!) when you make your own cleaning products. And customize the smell with your favorite essential oils. Or, if you’re not a fan of scented products, skip the essential oils altogether.

  1. Same question as Angela. Do you need to rinse your all purpose cleaner or is it ok to let it air dry. Also how long does the mix last at room temp?

  2. I haven’t bought a spray bottle that last.
What and where do buy your bottles? You have inspired me to save money on products I’m allergic to and enjoy accomplishing the cleaning task.

    • Hi Gwyn, sadly spray bottles don’t last forever. Some people choose glass spray bottles because they may last longer. However, I prefer plastic because if a glass spray bottle breaks it can cause a huge mess. Right now, I’m using these spray bottles.

  3. The recipe in your new book is different. Apparently, you’ve found what works better. Thank you for always taking us along on the journey to clean!

  4. The All-Purpose spray and the Everyday Counter spray are one in the same. Must have needed one more recipe to make a total of 31.????Could be confusing to those not paying attention though.

  5. I love all your videos! Thank you!

Can you recommend where I can find decent spray bottles? You know, like ones that actually work and don’t fall apart after one use? Thank you!
